This course covers forty years of international cinema (1949-1988) and examines such significant movements as Italian neorealism, French nouvelle vague, Czech new wave, Brazilian cinema novo as well as Spanish, German, Swedish, Dutch, Russian, Yugoslav, Indian and Japanese films. There is an even division between Western and Non-Western countries with a comparative-contrastive approach to analysis. Conducted in English. NOTE: OFFERED OCCASIONALLY
