3, 3/0 Prerequisite: FRE 307, FRE 308, or FRE 309. French and Francophone novels from the Middle Ages to the present. Includes historical introduction to the novel as social phenomenon and introduction to the formal development of the French and Francophone novel. May be limited to one historical period. May be repeated once where content varies. corequisite: FLE 200. Introduction to the elements of a foreign language curriculum: selecting, organizing, and presenting material; designing classroom activities; evaluating student progress; teacher-pupil relationships. Students in modern and classical languages teacher certification programs should take this course immediately before FLE 407 and FLE 408.
