This course presents a methodology for determining the origin, cause and liability of a fire. It involves the identification of a variety of variables common to the fire scene that help establish human activities. The information, placed in context with principles of fire engineering and human behavior, is used to reconstruct the fire scene and evaluate all investigator hypotheses. Cf.: SEC 1019.
