A study of some of the basic concepts of chemistry, with an emphasis on chemical stoichiometry and the relationship between the periodic table and the chemical and physical properties of elements and their compounds. A preparatory course for General Chemistry (CHE 1210) for students whose background in science is weak and for those who have had no prior CHE course. Lecture, 2 hours. Recitation, 1 hour.
