Mg 240 - Innovation,Creativity and Entrepreneurial Success

Institution:
Southern Vermont College
Subject:
Description:
Often, we create a false dichotomy between business and professional success on the one hand and creativity and innovation on the other. However, successful entrepreneurs need to be able to generate ideas; they need to be quality problem solvers; and they need to be open to new solutions and approaches to existing, changing and novel situations. In short, innovation and creativity are part and parcel of being a success in the workplace. Employers want individuals who can develop solutions to problems that have never been seen before. This course is aimed at helping students across the curriculum become better problem-solvers and creative thinkers and idea generators through hands-on learning, research opportunities, case studies and interdisciplinary readings in psychology, art, neuroscience, education and business. This course is the entry-level requirement for Build the Enterprise but is open to all students across the curriculum. Enrollment is limited to 20 students.
