The course is designed to provide specific content and practice in assessment and strategies for teaching in the curricular areas for students with diverse learning needs. Emphasis is on co-teaching and models for differentiated instruction in heterogeneous classrooms. A review of assessment approaches that includes dynamic, performance, and curriculum-based assessment using a problem-solving method is included, as well as the use of technology for assessment and support of student learning. The New York State Learning Standards are used throughout the course as an informative guide. Restriction: 2.75 GPA. Prerequisites: EDUC 192, 229, EDUC/MSTI 260. Corequisite: EDUC 292.
