An introduction to electricity and magnetism, optics, and atomic and nuclear physics. Includes some DC and AC circuits, optical instruments, the theory of the atom, and radioactivity. Uses some calculus. Designed for students majoring in Biology or those who do not plan to take PHYS 211, 212. Lecture: 3 hours; Laboratory: 3 hours. Recitation: 1 hour. Prerequisite: PHYS 121C. Note: Chemistry and Mathematics students are advised to take PHYS 132C.
