Saint John Fisher University
Subject:
Description:
Students in the Peer Leadership Seminar are introduced to both the theory and practice of peer leadership, with a particular emphasis on inter-group dialogue, group facilitation, community building, and wellness issues. Building on the insights of recent student development theory, the course gives students opportunities to test the conclusions of the research and develop their own insights as they apply what they are learning in one or more settings-as co-facilitators with faculty in the Freshman Seminar, as peer navigators in the HEOP program, and as facilitators for residence hall programs. Prerequisite: Students should have taken ITDY/SERV 120C or had prior leadership experience. In addition, enrollment in ITDY 220P is limited to participants in the Peer Advisor and Peer Navigator programs.
