A study of numerical methods for solving the following problems: approximating the zeroes of non-linear equations, approximation of functions by polynomials, numerical solution of systems of equations, and numerical integration. Use of the computer for application to the above problems through student-written and/or commercially available programs is examined. Prerequisites: Math 221C and 232, and CSCI 161 or equivalent, with grades of "C" or higher.
