This course introduces students to the economic way of thinking by applying economic analysis to a wide variety of societal issues. The focus of the course and analysis is on individual decision-making. Issues covered reflect topics of current interest that may include product safety, drugs and alcohol, the environment, health care, crime and justice, discrimination, sports, education, along with more traditional areas of interest such as international trade.
