This course introduces students to technologies that are necessary for work in the communications field in the next century. Students gain experience writing a blog, creating a wiki, becoming an active citizen in "Second Life,"creating podcasts and learning about RSS, and becoming skilled in Adobe Flash . Students also read important papers written throughout the history of new media and examine the work of new media artists currently working in the field. Students are expected to complete a major final artistic project that stretches the everyday use of new media.
