Civilizations of the Americas is a survey course on cultural development in the Americas. Specifically the course introduces students to topics such as the peopling of the New World, the emergence of domestication and civilization, the history and evolution of specific cultures in the New World especially the Inca, Aztec, and Maya, and the impact of contact, conquest, and colonialism on indigenous peoples throughout the Americas.
