This course focuses on the introduction and/or mastery of selected NATA Education Council Athletic Training Educational Competencies and Clinical Proficiencies. Emphasis is placed on the principles, procedures and techniques that are commonly utilized in the evaluation and assessment of upper extremity athletic injuries. The student must attend two lab sessions per week instructed by an Approved Clinical Instructor and complete clinical rotations under the direct supervision of an appropriately licensed health care professional. The clinical rotations will include rotations with two or more of Delta State University's athletic teams (e.g. men's and women's swimming, baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis) and a physical therapy rotation. Prerequisites/Co-requisites: Admittance in the Athletic Training Education Program, HSE 250, HSE 356. 1
