This course focuses on the assessment and the care of persons with minimal health variations. The student is introduced to the basic interpersonal and technical skills which form the foundation of safe nursing practice. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking and problem solving within the context of a multicultural client community. Topics include methods of data collection, the identification of risks to health, and the formulation and application of preventative interventions. Prerequisites: NURS 102, Biol 270. Corequisites: NURS 310.
