This course focuses on the middle school structure, the concept of middle education and the basis for the active learning environment. Topics will include cooperative learning, middle school classroom management and organization, learning centers, instructional tasks, values-clarification activities and instructional coordination with content fields to meet the educational needs of the early adolescent. Field observation and experience are required and integrated into the course. Required for Middle Childhood Teacher Certification.
