Description:
Increasing students' oral proficiency is a primary aim of this course, as is the development of reading and viewing strategies appropriate to a variety of written texts (including literature, poetry, and newspapers) and Russian television and film. Students expand their vocabulary and study the syntax of complex Russian sentences and grammatical nuances. Students keep a weekly diary, write short essays on numerous topics, and do audiovisual work in the language laboratory. The class is conducted entirely in Russian.
