Africana Studies, SRE Taking its title from the essay by C. L. R. James, this course reviews the ideas of influential 20thcentury writers who considered themselves to be subjects of the African diaspora. James, Franz Fanon, Maryse Condé, and Aimé and SuzanneCésaire pushed the boundaries on nation, race, and identity and shaped whole schools of political and social thought in the later 20th century.
