Credit Hours: 3.00. This course will focus on the interface of classical cell biology and microbiology, with emphasis on the exploitation of mammalian host cell by medically relevant pathogens, such as Yersinia, Salmonella, and Listeria. This course will cover the molecular mechanisms of infectious diseases. It will introduce modern cellular microbial strategies for studying the complex interaction between pathogens and their host cells. Topics and readings will be prepared from the most current literature.
