Credit Hours: 3.00. This course is designed to provide students with knowledge concerning the effects of the aging process on physical systems of older adults. These systems include circulatory, respiratory, neurological, sensory, musculoskeletal, reproductive, etc. Students will also learn about acute and chronic illnesses, common among the elderly. The impact of physical health on mental health, medical treatment, and long-term care will be discussed.
