Description:
Study of blood cell derivation, maturation, physiology, and function with emphasis on normal and abnormal blood and bone marrow morphology. Correlation of hematological and hemostasis tests with other clinical findings in the diagnosis of various blood dycrasias and hemostatic disorders are discussed and emphasized with case study materials. Also includes the study of the diagnostic value of urine and body fluids other than blood. The student will be expected to perform critical evaluations of clinical cases and/or scientific papers and additional advanced practice competencies in related content area.
