Electron Microscopy With Laboratory Pre or Co-req:Any Two: BIO 221, 234, 220, 230, and CHE 217, BIO 367 and Instructor's Permission Covers the operation of and tissue preparation for the transmission electron microscope. Techniques used in specimen preparation include: fixation, dehydration, infiltration, embedding, and ultramicrotome thin-sectioning. Photography and darkroom use is intensive. Scanning electron microscopy is introduced. Special projects are encouraged.
