A study of the fundamentals of human nutrition with emphasis on the impact of diet on health. Topics include the chemical nature and physiological roles of nutrient groups, principles of weight control, nutritional requirements at different life stages, eating disorders, food safety, world hunger, and the role of nutrition in the prevention and treatment of disease.
