In this introductory course students learn the foundations of creating music with the computer. Beginning with an overview of computer concepts relating to MIDI and digital audio, students develop skills relating to MIDI and audio sequencing, recording and editing, and sound synthesis and processing. Software applications studied and used include: Digital Performer; Live Ableton; GarageBand; Band-in-a-Box; and MacCSound. Students create projects using these programs. No prerequisites. Enrollment limited to ten. (Spring 2007)
