This is an introductory course in the study of the immune system. Topics covered include the mechanisms involved in host-parasite interactions and innate and specific immunity. Current scientific topics are reviewed including recent developments in immunology such as the development of new vaccines. Three hours of lecture per week. Prerequisites: BIOL 101, CHEM 102, and MATH 130. Fall or Spring or as needed.
