This course is designed to provide upper-grade teachers with the skills necessary to teach study skills and reading while teaching content area subjects. Curriculum development of listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and writing will be addressed. Reading materials used in content area subjects will be analyzed in terms of readability, vocabulary, and skill development. The students will be required to develop lessons that provide cognitive subject matter as well as reading and language arts improvement. Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or betterin ED 309 or ED 325. Spring semester.
