A study of the scientific and technological discoveries and events that led up to the first nuclear explosion, the historic conflict between the U.S. and other nations that led to the Arms Race, and nuclear stockpiling as well as efforts toward peace. The Just- War Theory and current attempts to prevent a holocaust will be considered. Students will be challenged to influence the legislature and their own religious communities to promote peace. Learning Outcome: Ethics of Social Responsibility.
