3 hours F,S This course expands basic techniques explored in ART 205 to the digital photography environment. Students will explore digital photography as applied art and as an art form. Focus will be placed on photographic composition, processing and manipulation through Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. Students will investigate creative composition, natural and artificial lighting, various digital processing, archiving and output methods. Students will learn how to evaluate images for communicative effectiveness and aesthetic appeal. Students are required to supply their own digital cameras. This is a studio course requiring extended hours. Prerequisite: Art 205 or consent of instructor.
