This course provides students with and understanding of public and private retirement plans and programs. It describes such public programs as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and how they relate to retirement and benefits planning. The course also compares and contrasts the workings and regulation of defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans. Prerequisite: Fin 409 or permission of the instructor.
