A study of the algebra and trigonometry necessary to thoroughly prepare a student for calculus. Math 160 covers the same material that is covered in Math 140 and Math 150 but at an accelerated pace. Topics include: rational exponents, complex numbers, quadratic equations, functions including polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions, linear systems of equations, matrices and determinants, trigonometric identities, vectors, polar coordinates, conic sections, applications of algebra and trigonometry. Prerequi site: ACT score of 25 or Math 120 with a minimum grade of "B", and permission of the instructor.
