This course provides an introduction to data communications, networks, distributed processing, and collaborative computing. The course will study the technical and management aspects of computing networks and distributed systems supporting a wide range of organizational functions from organizational process to strategic decision making; from personal to group to organizational computing. The social and organizational implications of telecommunications technology are also examined. Credit cannot be given for both MIS 351 and CIS 427.
