This course presents fundamental concepts of decision support system (DDS) and expert system (ES), illustrating a number of real world applications and commercial software products, and indicating possible directions for future development. The course covers the application of artificial intelligence in building decision support and expert systems for management and other applications. Topics include: the evolution of DSS/ES, functions of DSS/ES and DSS/ES components and architectures. The course will examine design, implementation, and organizational issues through term projects.
