A comprehensive introduction to the science of applied mechanics, encompassing a study of forces and the stresses, deflections, and motions which they produce. Topics include the concept of equilibrium and static force analysis; the mechanics of deformable bodies (internal stresses, constitutive relationships, strains, deflections, flow, failure); statics of indeterminate systems; kinematics; kinetics of particles, systems of particles, and rigid bodies.
