In this class we will look at how our own experiences conform to or challenge popular myths and narratives about the historical and contemporary college experience in America. We will study how college life is constructed in novels, newspapers, diaries, letters, personal interviews, essays, textbooks and films. While reading and writing about the college experience, we will address the intersection between fact and fiction and explore how print and visual representations might shape our perceptions of our world.
