In this seminar we explore the emergence and evolution of concepts surrounding zero, infinity, and dimension. These mathematical topics are introduced in a historical context as the by-products of human enterprise. Students study foundations of number systems, investigate objects with fractional dimensions, gain an understanding of logic as it applied to proof methodology, and develop visualization skills, creating a tangible experience with abstract mathematical objects and concepts. The supporting material is drawn from selected readings, as well as films and videos.
