Topic: International Banking. This course explores issues of major importance to international banking. Topics discussed include the global banking environment, the operations of international commercial and investment banks, regulatory issues affecting the global banking industry, and international money and foreign exchange markets. The role, successes and weaknesses of multinational institutions for economic development are discussed along with the proposed reform measure. Students taking this course should expect to learn about the various categories of international lending and loan syndication, asset-related and project financing, international retail and private banking.
