Study of concepts involved in forecasting demand, inventory control, MRP, JIT production, lean manufacturing, aggregate scheduling, and project management. The application of mathematical programming techniques, bottleneck analysis, and lean techniques such as value stream mapping, error proofing, cellular manufacturing, etc. are used in design and analysis of production systems. Use of the computer programs in the design and analysis of such systems. Students are asked to select problems of interest and present final project reports.
