Intensive practice in writing expository prose in French. Students will complete a wide variety of writing assignments (resumes, critical analyses, explications de texte, and the like) over the course of the semester. Class sessions will be devoted to the discussion of student papers and technical issues related to effective writing. Students should expect to prepare several drafts of each assignment under the close supervision of the instructor.
