The course is conducted as a guided project design course over a two-semester period with the class divided into teams and assigned a specific design project. Periodic progress reports are submitted during the term. A final written report and an oral presentation including demonstration are required at the end of the term. Cost analysis, evaluation of design alternatives and application of engineering principles are emphasized.
