This course introduces students to the diversity of invertebrate animals from a functional evolutionary perspective. The lecture will focus on the unique aspects of the morphology, physiology, and ecology of major phyla in light of the selective forces that have favored their evolution, as well as consider the intersection of invertebrates and humans.
