This is a course that examines the art and architecture of Europe in the 14th century: one of the great transitional periods in the history of western art. Beginning with the new developments in 13th-century Italian art by such artists as Giovanni Pisano and Giotto, the course charts the pattern of these developments in northern European countries as well.
