An introduction to the visual arts of three Asian civilizations: India, China, and Japan. Since this is a survey, the focus will be placed on major monuments that are characteristic of these artistic traditions. In order to better understand the works of art, the cultural milieu including religion, philosophy, and parallel arts will be considered.
