The history of Blacks in America is traced from the Reconstruction era and the rise of Jim Crow segregation to the Civil Rights movement of the 1960's and the current period. Special attention is paid to the migration of blacks to the north and the social-economic situation which they encountered there. Specific topics to be addressed include formation of the NAACP.
