Focus on quantitative and qualitative methods of conducting social science research and applying these methods to questions addressed by public and private agencies. Topics include review of the scientific method, ethical issues in research, the principles of measurement, a survey of research designs most frequently used in applied social science research, and the writing of research proposals.
