Credit 6 hours. Prerequisites: Nursing 331, 371, 373, 376, 378, 381, and concurrent enrollment in or prior credit for Nursing 372, 375, 383, and 380, or permission of the Department Head. Adult and Gerontological Nursing focuses on the clinical application of the nursing process to promote, maintain, and restore health in young, middle aged, and elderly adult clients with a variety of health care needs. This course provides clinical experiences in acute and community settings, enabling students to develop critical thinking decision making, and communication skills. Eighteen hours of laboratory a week.
