Credit 3 hours. Prerequisite: Math 155 or 161. An introduction to topics in contemporary mathematics. Topics may be selected from the theory of finance, perspective and symmetry in art, formal Aristotelian logic, graph theory, probability and odds, elementary number theory, optimization, numeracy in the real world, and historical topics in mathematics that have influenced contemporary mathematics. A graphing calculator is required for this course.
