Credit 3 hours. Prerequisites: formal acceptance for progression into the athletic training curriculum, PSYC 101 and SOC 101. Investigates the current psychosocial and socio-cultural issues in athletic training and sports medicine and the role of the athletic trainer in the intervention, referral and rehabilitation processes. Development of a complete rehabilitation process for a variety of populations following injury/surgery. Course will focus on use of common therapeutic exercise equipment and manual techniques.
