Credit 3 hours. Prerequisites: Junior standing or permission of the Department Head. Conducted as a tutorial for individual students seeking additional work beyond the introductory level. Readings chosen according to student interest, academic orientation, and level of preparedness. Evaluations conducted on the basis of discussions and written assignments. Students taking this course for graduate degree credit must expect greater reading and paper requirements. May be repeated once but Department Head approval is required to count more than 3 hours toward the B.A. in Political Science or M.A. in History.
