Three units on World War I and its Aftermath (1914-28); the Rise of Totalitarianism and World War II (1928-45); and the Cold War and After (1945-present). Includes in-depth coverage of the role of women. Lectures, readings, and discussion. Offered every 2 years in the spring semester.
