A detailed study of the United States from its entry into World War I through its victory in World War II and its achievement of superpower status. Three units on World War I and the 1920s; the Great Depression and the New Deal; and World War II. Includes in-depth coverage of the role of women and minorities. Lectures, readings, and discussion. Offered every 2 years in the fall semester.
