Credit 3 hours. Prerequisite: CSD 451/551 or permission of the Department Head. The course emphasizes intervention for individuals in need of augmentative or alternate communication (AAC) systems. Intervention includes the processes of assessment and program development for individuals with severe communication disorders. Variables that affect the development and implementation of AAC systems in various service delivery settings will be a major component of the course.
